In 1933, Luigi Faure, Placido Eydallin, Beniamino Gally, Fiorentino Bergoin , Carlo Giolitto, were in Sestriere with Hans Nobel to teach the new sport.
In 1972 Piero Gros won the Giant Slalom world cup in Val d'Isere and then he won in Madonna di Campiglio.
During the season 1973-1974 he won the world cup and the bronze in the St.Moritz world cup.
In 1976 he wins the golden medal in the special Slalom in Innsbruckand in 1978 he wins the silver medal during the Garmisch world cup.
Italian champion for ten times he ends his athlete career in 1982, winning another italian title in the Sestriere's Special Slalom
